Phillip Wesley Brown, 70

JULY 21, 1946—OCT. 17, 2016

INDIANAPOLIS — Phillip Wesley Brown, age 70, of Indianapolis went to be with his Lord, Jesus, on October 17, 2016. He was born July 21, 1946, in Martinsville, IN, to Orzo Ancel and Virginia Grace Potter Brown, who preceded him in death. Phil graduated from Martinsville High School in 1964 and from Olivet Nazarene College in 1969 with a degree in Biology. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1970 to 1973. He worked at Morgan County Memorial Hospital as a phlebotomist as well as other jobs but most recently was employed by Pearson Ford. He was a member of Southwest Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his stepmother, Beatrice Scotten Miles Brown; sister, Sandra Brown Brown; stepsister-in-law, Vonda Miles; and stepnephew, Samuel Miles. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Ella Jane; stepsons, Darren Duke, David (Theresa) Duke and Daniel Duke; grandchildren, Anna and Timothy Duke; brothers, Gordon (Donna) Brown of Spencer, IN, and Kenneth (Sally) Brown of Paragon, IN; sisters, Lynn Ellen Allen of New Market, VA, and Marjorie Burris of Greenfield, IN; brother-in-law, Loy Brown of State Line, IN; half-brother, Joseph Brown of Mesa, AZ; stepbrothers, Glen Miles of Plainfield, IN and Don (Mary) Miles of Spartanburg, SC.; as well as 23 beloved nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit from 10 a.m. to service time at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Southwest Church of the Nazarene, 4797 Tincher Road, Indianapolis, IN 46221. Contributions may be made in Phil’s memory to the Southwest Church of the Nazarene Missionary Society.
