Jack Burpo, Jr., 70, of Camby, passed from this life on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Saint Francis Hospital in Mooresville. He was born to the late Marjorie Faye (Brakefield) and Jack Burpo, Sr. on September 23, 1946.

He was a Martinsville High School graduate with the class of 1964. Jack was of the Christian faith and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Martinsville. He worked as a carpenter for Larison Construction and Shipley Construction. In his spare time, he enjoyed drag racing, watching football or westerns, and fishing. His greatest pleasure was being a fantastic Papaw and caring for his great grandchildren.

Jack will be deeply missed by his host of loving family including his special friend, Beverly Burpo of Indianapolis; children, Jack Douglas Burpo (wife, Lisa) of Crawfordsville, Jennifer Markitan (husband, Mike) of Martinsville, Twanette Burpo of Camby, Mark Dion Burpo of Camby, and Beverly Darlene Burpo of Martinsville; grandchildren, Jack Douglas Burpo, Jr., Jessica Burpo, Amber McClain, Savannah McClain, Brandon Markitan, Justin Markitan, Chellsie Bowersock, Kelisha Bowersock, Zachary Burpo, Mark Burpo, Jr., Michael Burpo, Tanner Burpo, Mary Burpo, Lil Rob Summers, and Austin Summers; great grandchildren, Annie Tackett, Mya Wright, Wyatt Burpo, and Daylen Burpo; brother, William Burpo of Martinsville and nieces and nephews, Billy Burpo, Stacey Hamm, Lynn Stodill, Kenny Parish, and Robert Parish. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Rosetta Parish, and grandchild, Kevon Bowersock.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville. A service celebrating Jack’s life will begin at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Jack will be cremated following the service.
