PARAGON - Morris D. “Dean” Christie, 67, Paragon, IN, a longtime Martinsville resident, passed from this life on April 4th, 2014, at his residence. He was born to the late Guy and Gladys (Morgan) Christie on April 21, 1946, in Hardyville, Kentucky.

Mr. Christie was a graduate of Martinsville High School with the Class of 1964. He enjoyed spending time at camp with his many friends through the years and karaoke.  He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #7850.

He retired from Kroger in Mooresville after 38 years and was a reserve officer for several years in Mooresville and Brooklyn.

He leaves behind many friends and family including two sons, Larry L. Christie and Rob Christie (wife, Corinna) of Mooresville; two brothers, Larry J. Christie (wife, Myra) and Randy Christie of Martinsville; one sister, Betty Anderson of Martinsville; four grandchildren, Jessica and Billy Christie, Whitney Ritter and Jon Crowe; and four great-grandchildren, Alexis and Maci Turner, Bailee Christie and Gracy Ritter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dalan Christie; and one great-grandson, Aven Ritter.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, April 8th, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, April 9th, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center. A service celebrating his life will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. There will be no burial.
