William Johnson

William Johnson, 62

FEB. 24, 1946 - MAY 9, 2008

William R. Johnson, 62, Westfield, died May 9, 2008, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.

Born Feb. 24, 1946, in Martinsville, he was the son of the late Charles and Wilma (Terrell) Johnson.

He married Connie K. (Burkett) Johnson on April 17, 1965. She survives in Westfield.

He was co-owner, with his wife, of Tifleigh Inc. and Johnson Paving & Landscaping.  After selling the businesses he worked at Reith Riley Construction Company.

He served in the Indiana Army National Guard.

He was a member of the Carmel American Legion.

He was a 1964 grad of Martinsville High School and attended Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis.

He was a member of Radiant Christian Life in Westfield.  Since 1986, he had taken several missionary trips to help build orphanages, schools and churches.

Other survivors include a brother, Richard Johnson of Martinsville and a sister, Laura Payne of Martinsville.

He was preceded in death by three daughters, Tiffini Leigh, Franci Lynn and Nicole Lene Johnson; a brother, Robert Johnson and a godson, Jason Paul Rinehart.

The service will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at Radiant Christian Life, 16162 Carey Road, in Westfield.  Pastors John Cernero, Gary Sobol and Oscar Cruz will officiate.

Visiting hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

The graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Nebo Memorial Park.
