In Memory

Peggy Bridge (Rich)

Peggy Ann Bridge (Burch) died on Monday, June 6th at her home in Albuquerque, NM. Services will be held on Saturday, June 12th in the West Mesa Christian Church in Albuquerque. Peggy Ann Bridge was born on September 11, 1946 in Martinsville, Indiana. She was the daughter of Dr. Roy and Aldea Bridge. “Doc Bridge” was a veterinarian, and Peggy got her love of animals from her father. Her mother was a nurse and passed on her excellent, Pennsylvania Dutch cooking skills to Peggy. Peggy attended Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico and then obtained her degree in Speech and Drama from the University of Houston. She taught high school for one year, left teaching, and eventually became the International Credit Manager for Curtin Matheson Scientific Inc. in Houston. Peggy married Walter Coyle Rich on August 11, 1979. It was the first and only marriage for each of them, and they were truly in love and had a wonderful life together. They have no children. However, they have had many pets. At the time of her death on June 6, 2016, Peggy owned a dog, a cat, a dove, and fish. She disliked movies and dental work, but above all else she despised politics. Peggy loved basketball, football, horse racing, NASCAR, PBR bull riders, sweet foods, old friends, police officers, veterans, and being a self-employed housekeeper after marrying Walter. She is survived by few relatives but has many lifelong friends from her youth. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Shelter of Albuquerque, NM, or the USO are requested.
