Kay Norman (Hollanders)

Kay Lynn Hollanders, a lifelong resident of Martinsville, passed from this life with her loving family by her side at 1:07 PM on Monday, February 26th, 2024, at the age of 78. Kay was one of two daughters born to the late Walter William and Irene (Fulford) Norman. She was born on Monday, June 4th, 1945, in Martinsville, Indiana.

Kay graduated from Martinsville High School with the class of 1964 and married her high school sweetheart, Frans Hollanders, two years later, on May 14th, 1966. The two shared nearly fifty-eight years of marriage and were blessed with two children, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Kay worked as a data processor for many years, first working at the Morgan Hospital & Medical Center and later for Twigg Corporation, both in Martinsville. She retired from Twigg Corporation in 1998 after approximately ten years to allow her to stay home and babysit for her twin granddaughters and later her oldest great grandson. Family was the highlight of Kay’s life. She cherished time spent camping and traveling with her family and took pleasure in vegetable and flower gardening.

She was a longtime member of the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Martinsville.

She is survived by a host of loving family including her husband, Frans Hollanders of Martinsville; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Dan Downing of Martinsville; son, Joseph Hollanders of Martinsville; sister, Nancy Dorsett of Monrovia, IN; five grandchildren, Nicole Brewer (husband, Adam), Natasha Babbs (husband, Jacob), Ethan Phillips, Lindsey Downing (fiancé, Lucas Brock), and Sydney Rose (husband, Jack); eight great grandchildren, Jase Hammans, Patrick Brewer, Connor and Carson Babbs, Jackson Downing, Lincoln and Saylor Brock, and Hayden Jo Rose.
