Judy L. Lowry, 68

BLOOMINGTONJudy L. Lowry, 68, a lifelong resident of Paragon, passed from this life at 6:38 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014, in the comfort of her own home and surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Martinsville, Indiana, on May 9, 1946, to James R. Jones and Velma G. (Ratts) Jones.  Her childhood was spent in Paragon, just down the road from where she and her husband lived, farmed and raised their children for the past 46 years.

She was a graduate of Martinsville High School with the class of 1964 and a lifetime member of the Paragon Christian Church.  On September 11, 1964, she married her soul mate and one true love, John Thomas Lowry.  Judy was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride and pleasure in being a farmer’s wife.  She loved to be outdoors, cooking, decorating and most importantly, she adored her grandchildren and every moment spent with them.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends including her husband of nearly 50 years, John Lowry of Paragon; mother, Velma G. Jones of Martinsville; son, John (wife, Jo Lynn) Lowry of Paragon; daughters, Julie (husband, Butch) Mason of Monrovia and Joy (husband, Jerry) Koller of Paragon; brother, J.W. Jones of Martinsville; sisters, Jennifer (husband, Stan) Sadler and Jill (husband, Fred) Finney of Martinsville; and six grandchildren, Taylor, Jace and Natalie Lowry, Austin Mason and Cassidy and Joey Koller.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, June 25th, from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville and from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Paragon Christian Church on Thursday.  Rev. Keenan Stienway will conduct a service celebrating her life on Thursday beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Paragon Christian Church, 290 N. Main Street in Paragon and she will be laid to rest in Friendship Park Cemetery, Paragon.
