David I. LaFary, 52, 509 E. Gray St., died from natural causes June 4, 1998, at Morgan County Hospital.

The son of Gilbert D. and Elizabeth Cottongim LaFary, he was born Dec. 24, 1945, in Martinsville.

Mr. LaFary was a 1964 graduate of Martinsville High School. He worked in the packaging department at Raytheon in Indianapolis and was also employed part-time at Walmart in Indianapolis. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching children. Mr. LaFary served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Southport Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth LaFary of Martinsville: two Daughters, Jacqueline Hardesty of Franklin and Maria LaFary of Greenwood: a brother, The Rev. Gary LaFary of Martinsville: a half-brother, Wayne LaFary of Bargersville: a sister Ermallee Baugh of Martinsville: a half-sister, Jeanne Short of Bargersville and two grandchildren, Bethany and Branden Hardesty.

The service will be Sunday, June 7, 1998, at 1 p.m. at Costin Funeral Chapel. The American Legion and representatives from Veterans of Foreign Wars will be at the grave site.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
