Jill Nutter (Keller)

Jill Ann Keller, 71, Martinsville, passed away at 9:14 a.m. on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Community South Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born on Saturday, September 21, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late William G. and Harriet Ann (DeTurk) Nutter.

Jill was a 1964 graduate of Martinsville High School. She received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Indiana University. Later she received her administration license from Indiana Wesleyan University. Jill was a teacher for the MSD of Martinsville for 26 years and an administrator for 12 years. She retired in 2007 as Assistant Principal at the Martinsville High School, giving a total of 38 years of service to the school district. Jill loved teaching and thoroughly enjoyed her friendships with the many students and educators she knew over the years.

Jill was a member of Tri-Kappa and belonged to a Bridge Club for over 30 years. She was also an active member of the First Baptist Church of Martinsville for most of her adult life. Jill loved doing crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune, reading, but most of all, spending lots of time with her family. Hilton Head Island, SC, Sunset Island, NC and Green Lake, Wisconsin were some of her favorite destinations to visit with family and friends.

Survivors are her devoted husband, Robert L. “Bob” Keller, II, whom she married on June 11, 1966; children, William R. “Chip” Keller and wife Michelle of Martinsville and Mimi Boyd and husband Greg of Martinsville; sister, Marilyn Jo Lasiter and partner Gordon of Greenwood; grandchildren, Emmah Keller, Ben Keller, Lily Boyd and Keller Boyd.

A memorial service will be 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Costin Funeral Chapel with Pastor Larry Osmon officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Martinsville.
