Ronald L. Taylor, 67

NOV. 3, 1945 — APRIL 26, 2013

MARTINSVILLE — Ronald L. Taylor, 67, Martinsville, passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013, at Indiana University Health Morgan Hospital.

He was born on Saturday, November 3, 1945, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Oren L. and Dorothy I. (Salzman) Taylor.Ron was a 1964 graduate of Martinsville High School and a 1968 graduate of Ball State University with a degree in music. He retired in 1993 as Chief Fire Investigator for the State of Indiana Arson Division. After retirement, he worked as an independent consultant as a fire investigator. He was active in his younger years with the Taylor Music Store, which was a local family business.

He was active in the community through Hoosier Harvest Church, God’s Posse, the Blue Knights, was a past board member and officer with the Fall Foliage Festival, and was one of the founders of the Boys and Girls Club, which is now the Martinsville Youth Center.

Ron is survived by his wife, Kathy P. (Adams) Taylor, whom he married on October 4, 1997; sons, Michael Taylor and wife Molly of Saint Louis, Missouri, Brian Taylor and wife Annie of Martinsville and Christopher Taylor and wife Jenny of Washington, D.C.; stepdaughter, Tammy Hamilton and husband Bobby of Martinsville; stepsons, Greg Pace and wife Andrea of Brownstown and Aaron Pace of Martinsville; brother, Randy Taylor and wife Susie of Martinsville.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Taylor.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Costin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chris Page officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Costin Funeral Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service.

Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Waverly.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers a contribution be made to the Martinsville Youth Center, 672 Birk Road, Martinsville, Indiana, 46151.
