Bonnie Leitzman (Kent)

Bonnie Lou Kent, 77, of Martinsville, passed away December 27, 2023 at Homeview Health & Rehab in Franklin. 

She was born Friday, October 11, 1946 to the late Nathan H. and W. Irene (Walls) Leitzman in Martinsville. On June 23, 1962, she married her husband, Ira J. Kent, Jr. who passed away April 7, 2018. 

Bonnie was a longtime factory worker at Harman Motive in Martinsville and also worked as a secretary in the street department and at Rural King. She was a giving soul who loved helping others. She and Ira would mow yards and visit other people in need. She loved spending time with her family, sewing and baking. 

She is survived by her children, Pamela L. Collins and husband John, Melissa “Hope” Troutman and husband Kenny, Alan Kent and wife Alandra, Kimberly D. Southers and husband Greg, Bradley Scott Kent and wife Nicole, T.J. Kent and wife Nicole; brothers, Charles Leitzman, Norman Leitzman; sisters, Mary Hacker, Wilma Arvin, Rita Magoon, Cheryl Leitzman, Nancy Nail; grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Travis, Jessica, Joshua, Dakota, Rebekah, Blaine, Amy, Dakota, Colton, Shawn, Mariah, Chase, Madisun, Jaxson, Eli; great grandchildren, Darion, Dalton, Kaden, Henning, Rory, Skylar, Alora, Declan, Daxton, Luca, Leigha, Lux, Owen.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Ira; parents, Nathan and Irene; brothers, William Walter Leitzman and Luther Leitzman; sisters, Ilene Leitzman, Birtie Hammack; grandsons, Jeremy Collins and Cody Sexton; great granddaughter, Lilian Schoolcraft.

Visitation is 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Costin Funeral Chapel. Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Costin Funeral Chapel with an hour of visitation prior to the service. 

Bonnie will be laid to rest at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery.
